The Accountant at work

Finance, run by The Accountant.

From invoices and reconciliation to close and reporting, the recurring finance work gets handled inside the systems and rules your team already uses.

Every invoice handled.

Supplier invoices are captured, coded, matched and routed through your approval rules, with exceptions held for review.

Every sale reaches the books.

Customer invoices are raised from your existing schedules and incoming payments are matched back to the right invoices.

The books stay reconciled.

Bank accounts, journals, accruals and recurring entries are kept continuously updated so month-end starts from clean books.

Problems caught early.

Duplicate invoices, changed bank details, unusual amounts and approval exceptions are surfaced while the work is being done.

Let OFFHOURS help your accounting team.

  4. Done. Both approvers have been notified.

Frequently asked questions.

What does the Accountant do each day?

It books the day's supplier invoices, raises and matches customer invoices, reconciles every bank account, posts the recurring journals and keeps the month-end close moving. Your finance team reviews the work and decides what happens next.

Which accounting systems and banks does it work with?

QuickBooks Online today, with Xero, Sage, Dynamics 365 Business Central and NetSuite as adapters. It reads your banks through a live feed or statement uploads, takes over your existing finance@ inbox, and works with your team in Slack or Teams.

Can it move money or file our returns?

No. It prepares the payment run and the VAT return; releasing a payment, logging into your bank, filing a return and signing anything stay with your people. It never approves what it booked: the approval matrix is yours.

How do we stay in control of what it books?

Every posting carries its source document, its approver and an audit trail, and every change is logged and undoable from your daily digest. Anything it can't verify is held and raised, never guessed, and our engineers supervise every shift.

Does it replace our external accountant?

No, it works alongside them. It runs the day-to-day ledger so your external accountant, auditor and tax adviser start from clean, reconciled books and an audit package drawn straight from its trail.

How long does it take to get started?

A week. We start as soon as you sign up: we map how your finance runs and who approves what, connect your accounting system, banks and inbox with hard rules for what it may touch, and within the week it works on probation while you review everything. After that it runs around the clock.
